NOIDA PLANS TO ADD SIX MORE SECTORS ON EXPRESSWAY
The Noida Authority is planning to extend its urban area by developing six new sectors off the Noida Expressway and for this the authority has already started to work by acquiring land from nearby villages by constituting a task force to take over 362 acres of land for the proposed expansion plan.
The major chunk of land for these new sectors would be acquired from Gulawali, Mohiyapur, and Nalgarha. These areas will contribute to the major chunk required for the upcoming sector’s 160-166.
Sectors 162, 164, and 165 would be dedicated to set up industrial units, sectors 163 and 166 could be used for mixed-use development, and sector 161 would be specifically for institutional purposes.
For the new sectors (161-166), the Authority had started work on acquiring land last year itself, but the exercise suffered a setback during the pandemic.
539 acres of land have been identified as per requirement for the development of these six sectors. Out of 539 acres, 177 acres of land has already been acquired and for the remaining 362 special task force has been formed.
The planning department officials are drawing up a list of amenities required for making the sectors ready for allotment.
Santosh Upadhyay officer on special duty said, “We are handing out forms to the villagers so that they can sell their land directly to the Authority. We will start an online application process too”.
There could be a delay in the acquisition process as Gulawali, where a portion of land needs to be acquired, has a settlement on 173 acres and the rehabilitation of existing villagers will also take time.
