Illegal colonies demolition took place at Gurugram’s sector 109




The demolition took place in sector 109 of Gurugram led by the district town planner RS Batth, the demolition was carried at 3 illegal colonies containing more than 100 structures spread over 12 acres of sector 109.

The demolition took place after complaints received from the residents of the sector regarding encroachment in the area which posed a security risk to the resident. The demonstration in Gurugram sector 109 was jointly planned by MCG (Municipal Corporation Gurugram) & DTCP (Town and Country Planning Department) over 3 colonies containing 100 illegal structures.

The RS Batth, District town planner said that rout of these illegal colonies have also been dug up so that construction in the area by the builders do not restart. The restoration notice was also issued to the builder but no concurrent action was taken by the builder therefore which led to a demolition drive being carried out.

A resident of the area added by saying that the problem is growing in the area & no action was taken by the concerned authorities. He added that the area has been encroached by the vendors which have created problems for the resident in the area. The other resident told that at the meeting with the authorities they had already demanded the removal of the encroachments & now finally some action has been taken.

The resident living along sectors at Dwarika Expressway & Golf Course Extension Road said that encroachments in the area are causing a threat to both sanitation & security of the region.
